In the morning of November 12th (Tuesday), Mr. Khalifa Mohammed Alkhorafi, the Consul General of the Consulate General of the State of Kuwait in Guangzhou, attend the opening ceremony of "2019 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intellectual Property Trade Expo" held in Guangzhou. The event was co-organized by Guangdong Intellectual Property Office, Hong Kong Intellectual Property Department and Macau Economic Bureau, aiming to strengthening the protection of intellectual property rights and promoting the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as a global technological innovation center. Mr. Chen Liangxian, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, and Mr. He Zhimin, Deputy Director of State Intellectual Property Office of China, and Mr. Li Ming, Vice Mayor of the People's Government of Guangzhou municipality, and senior officers of international organizations concerned with the protection of intellectual property rights. In addition to the presidents of technology universities and the heads of major international companies, such as Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and Gree Electric Co., Ltd. and Qualcomm Inc. After the opening ceremony, several seminars were held with focuses on the topics of promoting development supported by scientific and technological innovation within the framework of the protection of intellectual property right. Mr. Khalifa expressed the importance of being present in such events, which involve government agencies and private enterprise, in order to conduct business and participate in decision-making, especially in the field of protecting intellectual property rights, China is also striving to implement the intellectual property laws. Mr. Khalifa also stressed the importance of the Greater Bay Area project to China, a project that aims to unite the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong and Macao to create a huge integrated economic and trade zone.

n the morning of November 1st (Friday), Mr. Khalifa Mohammed Alkhorafi, the Consul General of the Consulate General of the State of Kuwait in Guangzhou, attended the opening ceremony of "The 40th anniversary of Guangzhou's establishment of sister city relationship", Guangzhou established its first sister city relationship with Fukuoka City, Japan. This conference was organized by the Guangzhou Municipal Government with the theme of "Carrying the hands of the sister cities and taking the road of win-win situation", and representatives of several countries, including Dhofar Province, Oman, participated in the signing of memorandums of understanding on sister cities. At the conference, the mayor of Guangzhou first issued a keynote speech, which stated that Guangzhou attaches great importance to the conclusion of the relationship between sister cities. Subsequently, the mayor of Fukuoka talked about the history of Sino-Japanese relationship and the benefits of signing the sister city agreement with Guangzhou. In 2012, Kuwait City signed a sister city agreement with Guangzhou, the two sides actively promoted prosperity and common development on the principle of equality and mutual benefit, aimed to strengthen and develop cooperation between the two cities and deepen understanding and friendship between the two peoples. In addition, the two sides also encourage multi-form bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, modern service industry, health, education, tourism, environmental protection and planning and so on.

In the morning of October 22nd (Tuesday), Mr. Khalifa Mohammed Alkhorafi, the Consul General of the Consulate General of the State of Kuwait in Guangzhou, was invited by the Guangdong Provincial Government to attend the opening ceremony of "The 3rd 21st Century Maritime Silk Road China (Guangdong) International Communication Forum" held in Zhuhai city with the theme of "Integration of the Maritime Silk Road Facilitated by the Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area". Jointly organized by the China Media Group and the People's Government of Guangdong Province, the forum showcased Guangdong's achievements in promoting the implementation of the "Belt and Road Initiative" and promoting the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and deepening exchanges and cooperation with other countries around the world.
